WETHERBY RUN 10K – SUNDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER 2019

The second option for race 13 of the club’s Summer championship was the Wetherby Run 10k hosted by, of course, Wetherby Runners, this turned out to be the more popular choice amongst members! Billed as ‘a friendly, club organised event’, now in it’s 14th year it is well-supported by the local community and is a firm favourite on the race Calendar of many running clubs. There’s a warm welcome in store for runners who can look forward to a fast, flat scenic route among 1,000 other like-minded people. The race is Gold-Graded by the British Association of Road Race and was the BARR National winner of the Bill Reynolds Memorial Trophy 2014. The Wetherby Mini-Marathon is held alongside the 10K making for a fun, family day out. This ‘Cracking little Yorkshire run’ also offers finishers a commemorative mug.

Flying the flag in the blue & white and also earning valuable points on the table were: Gemma Illingworth 52:06, Vicky Cousins 56:33, Sarah Rawlings (second 10k of the day!) 60:14, Mick Hogan 61:16, Simon Lacy 61:51, Rhea Sutcliffe 72:14, Lorraine McKnight 73:47, Kathryn Lucas 75:58 & Dawn Hogan (making a return to running after a long absence, welcome back Dawn!) 80:13.

Well done Everyone!
