BRIGANTIA HOGSHEAD CHALLENGE – SUNDAY 24TH NOVEMBER 2019

Hosted by See York, Run York, the Brigantia Hogshead Challenge is so named Brigantia to celebrate their Celtic heritage and Hogshead as they wanted a medal with a hog on (also loosely because of York’s previous name Ebor, ie E-boar). The event was held at York Sports Village on their 1km cycle circuit.  The event is a 6 hour, chip timed event at which runners can turn up and run as many or as few laps as they wish within the 6 hour limit. Their motto: It’s your challenge, your race, you decide the distance! All runners, no matter how fast or how far they had run, received the same bespoke medal and a goody bag. There were also homemade cakes for all runners at the end of the run. The pair took on the 10k distance. Annie Kisluk finished in 51:05 and David Goodyear completed it in 59:01 Great effort as always, well done!
