Located close to Manchester Airport in the Cheshire village Ashley, hosted by MCA Fitness events, this Go Tri event is not about racing and results but encouraging people to take part in what may be their first multi-sport event with the emphasis being on enjoyment. Consisting of a 2 mile run, 14 mile cycle and another 2 mile run, the bike course takes in the leafy roads around Ashley, Mobberley and Wilmslow. The run is a flat out and back course under the Airport runway tunnels. The Duathlon takes place between 9am and 12pm with several waves of 15 competitors throughout the morning around 15 seconds apart to avoid a mass start. It is a fun event, suitable for all levels of athlete to enjoy their Sunday morning. The persistent rain failed to dampen the event for Eccleshill’s Paul Croston who is no stranger to these type of events, finishing in 1:27 (unoffical time)
