The CHEVIN CHASE – SUNDAY 26TH DECEMBER 2019

Four blue and whites kicked off Boxing Day in style today.
Cold but improved weather conditions met the starting line up for the 2019 Boxing day extravaganza that is the Chevin Chase. As usual the event attracted a large contingency of fancy dressed runners keen to burn off the calories from the previous day’s turkey dinners. Hosted by Airecentre Pacers AC, the Chevin Chase is a hilly, multi-terrain race starting and finishing in Guiseley via a scenic 7 mile circuit of Otley Chevin, always held on Boxing Day at 11am. The race, now in it’s 41st year, attracts 1400 runners, selling out in record time. A popular race within the Christmas calendar with proceeds supporting local community organisations. An excellent way to blow off the cobwebs and earn a quality technical shirt for your efforts. There to represent Eccleshill Road Runners and making it round the tough course in fine style; Claire Hern led the team home in 54:25, followed by Robert Sutton (TBC), Mick Hogan 80:35 and Dawn Hogan 85:41  Fantastic running guys, well done and a big shout out to the support crew out on the course!
