KIRKSTALL CALVERLEY CUTTER – SATURDAY 1ST FEBRUARY 2020

posted in: Race Reports | 0

After a successful debut in 2019 Great Owl running hosted the second edition of the Kirkstall Calverley Cutter. A 16km Trail / Road Hybrid Race taking in the sights of the fantastic River Aire and the infamous Calverley Cutting, a steep ascent from Fagley Woods up to Calverley, not for the faint hearted! Race registration took place at the award winning Kirkstall Bridge, on finishing all runners received a delicious pint with their race number (or cider / glass of wine / soft drink) and a cosy warm atmosphere after was certainly a very cold January race! Although the route is relatively simple, the course was part marked and marshalled at key areas and all runners were required to carry a route map / description of the course as part of their compulsory kit. The race started and finished just a hop away from the pub on the Leeds Liverpool Canal.

Russell Naylor completed the race in a brilliant time of 1:25:08 – well done Russell
