So…..With the Peco Cross Country Race 5 @ Rounday Park cancelled just what were we going to with ourselves on a fine Sunday morning – the first in March?! Well you may ask – we were going to organise our own ‘cross country’! Gathering at Rawdon Meadows, Apperley Bridge at 9 am sharp the group, including our Junior contingent who had previously represented our great club at this years race series, we set off along the canal towards Shipley, turning off at the renowned Millenium Way sign down into the muddy descent towards the suspension bridge over the fast flowing River Aire which would eventually lead us into Yorkshire Water territory, a short jaunt around Esholt Hall (including a liaison with a security guard and her barking hounds) before heading back along The Avenue towards Apperley Lane, back down to Rawdon Meadows. The group then headed to Costa, Greengates for a social gathering, which may or may not have involved coffee and cake, to present our fabulous Juniors, Marcus Myers, Liam Ellison & Josh Jenkins with a trophy for their efforts!
