The old colliery canter is another event brought together by “It’s Grim up North” With no less than six distances offered on the race menu ranging from 5 miles to ultra marathon. The 10 mile discipline was the bait that tempted the three Sarah’s to get back to the race scene representing the mighty Eccleshill.
A 5 mile multi terrain course is run in laps to achieve the selected distance. Set in Rabbit Ings a South Yorkshire country park which is a 64-hectare park offering grassland, wetland & woodland with walking & biking tracks. the course provides good trail paths all the way round and one ‘generous hill’ this is a great little event and offers plenty of wild life to provide a distraction from the tough going. Finishers who cross the line are greeted with the regular goodies , home made cakes, a medal and goody bag.
