This is a 10k race brought to the running comunity by the team behind the Mountain bike challenge. It starts and finishes at the same place as the mountain bike challenge at the picturesque Leymoor Cricket club. The challenging but very well marshalled route flows through parts of Longwood and up through Outwood golf course with stunning views over Huddersfield as runners complete the route. After the race competitors and their family and friends can enjoy a well deserved drink at the Walkers Arms. The race which is designed to challenge participants but is all worth while as it offers rewarding views and an amazing finishers medal worthy of pride and place in your collection.The run is sponsored by the Walkers Arms with funds raised going to the Laymoor Cricket Club. Lining up in the blue and whites for this one today was Eccleshill’s Annie Kisluk and David Goodyear.
Weather conditions, although a little muggy, were just about right for such a demanding effort in this hilly but scenic terrain. Another very good effort, fantastic running, well done! Annie finished in 1;04;14 followed closely by David in 1;04;55.
