SIR TITUS TROT AUTUMNAL TRAIL (Day 2) – SUNDAY – 25TH SEPTEMBER 2021

Round two of the Sir Titus Trot Autumnal Trail hosted by It’s Grim Up North Running saw two more Eccleshill runners out in the beautiful Autumnal sunshine – if a little warm, it was though a fabulous day to be out running in one of the most stunning areas of our City. Once again, seven different distances were on offer starting with 5k going through all the disciplines up to the ultra marathon. Sarah Myers & Sarah Rawlings took a shine to this one, choosing the half marathon distance, however, Sarah Myers suffered a return of an old injury and down graded to the 10k. Grim Up North’s final visit this year to Saltaire gave entrant’s another opportunity to assess their progress or simply to enjoy the changes to the landscape that autumn brings. The canal towpath was once again really good underfoot as the weather turned into late summer like conditions and with such a menu on offer the flat out and back might just be the right tonic for runners to push themselves to the next distance. As always an array of homemade cakes awaited all finishers not to mention chocolate, beer and a fabulous bespoke medal.
Sarah Myers finished the 10k in 68:27 – Sarah Rawlings completed the half marathon in 2:29:52 narrowly missing out on the 3rd lady spot. Well done Ladies and big thanks to Annie Kisluk for giving up her time to marshal the event.
