Just one Eccleshill Road Runner travelled to the Kirklees district for welcome return of this popular but tough race. The clue is in the title and this certainly lives up to it’s name! Hosted by Meltham AC, the infamous Meltham ‘Tough’ 10k – is billed as a winter road race with plenty of gruelling climbs, long fast descents and guaranteed challenging weather and doesn’t disappoint. Whilst runners were met with very chilly but pleasant winter sun on arrival at Meltham Community Sports Centre this morning, conditions were made more challenging being on the back of storm Malik making for even more wintry weather on reaching the dizzy heights to which they had climbed. The reward in this race though is the fabulous downhill strectch back down to the village with just a short incline back to the sports centre. Annie Kisluk was the only ERRer making it to the start line after several members pulled out at the eleventh hour for various reasons. Finishing in a fantastic time of 58:25. Well done Annie!
