Hosted by Roberttown Road Runners the Liversedge Half is an annual, regular attraction for the seasoned runner and those wishing to upgrade to a bigger challenge. A popular part of the heavy woollen district Winter sporting calendar, the 26th Liversedge Half Marathon was a welcome return for 2022. The race is a favourite amongst the running community and famed for its challenging hilly course and inclement weather! The race is chip timed and starts and finishes at the Commonside, which is a 3-minute walk from the Race HQ. Runners follow a one lap course starting and finishing at the Commonside. The route is hilly and run on local rural roads. The Commonside is closed to traffic before and after the race. The course is mile marked and water stations are available though runners may well have had enough water today, coupled with blustery winds, conditions were very challenging, definitely not for the faint hearted. Eccleshill had six runners who braved today’s torrential rain to complete the course; leading the team hom was Claire Hern in 1:33:11 (second F45), Robert Sutton 2:05:29; Annie Kisluk 2:16:59; Sarah Rawlings 2:17:51, David Goodyear 2:26:46 and Sarah Myers 2:34:01 Great running Team, well done!
