THE FLAT CAPS 10K – SUNDAY 10TH APRIL 2022

posted in: Race Reports | 0

The first race in our summer championships begins with a challenging yet beautifully scenic run around the stunning Calderdale hills.
Hosted by Sowerby Bridge Snails Running Club, the Flat Caps 10k is now in its third year. The route takes runners around the picturesque Calderdale countryside. The event boasts a fantastic contribution to the fantastic charity, The Christie Foundation as one hundred percent of profits raised go directly to the Trust. Founded over 100 years ago The Christie has played a crucial role in the advancement of cancer treatment and care. The Christie is an amazing charity who treat and support over 44,000 people with cancer. This is an undulating chip timed and measured fully marshalled course in Sowerby Bridge, Halifax and is a great starter for the club programme. With all finishers receiving a bespoke medal 🏅 Runners were met with a chilly, sunny spring morning, frosty in parts but by and large perfect running conditions. Having had to pull out due to illness Barbara Stow left Ian Stow to fly the flag for Eccleshill alone. Finishing the challenging course in 52:46 and gaining his first vital points on the table! Great running Ian, well done!
