SOUTH CAVE 10K – SUNDAY 31ST JULY, 2022

posted in: Race Reports | 0

A busy weekend of racing saw Sarah Rawlings travel to the picturesque East Yorkshire town of South Cave, hosted by Kingston Upon Hull Athletic Club, the second edition pf the South Cave 10k course takes in some beautiful scenery through quiet country roads and provides just enough of a challenge to keep even the seasoned striders on their toes. Starting and finishing at the beautiful gates of Cave Castle – (not many start lines in Yorkshire can boast such a battle-ready backdrop) the course then takes runners through the historic town of South Cave (not a village, locals will remind you: it was granted a town charter by King Edward I in 1291!). The course then runs through the countryside to the pretty village of Ellerker before looping round and returning to South Cave, a couple of sharp climbs add to the fun before the run is completed by a lap of the local playing field. Finishers can then collect their fabulous South Cave 10K medal! Sarah finished in a brilliant time of 56:47 – well done!
