Race 16 in the summer champs comes in the form of the Askern 10k. Licensed under UKA rules. For 2022 Askern District Running Club are staging the 10 kilometre on the traditional date of the 10 miler. They have also revised the course to ease the issues at the start area and on-course road management. This new version of the race is a pilot event, thus they have had to reduce the entry numbers. It did incorporate the majority of the original recognised fast course on fairly rural roads but managed to avoid the A19 element.
Yet another very warm weekend made for challenging conditions. Gillian Jago was the only Eccleshill runner earning points this weekend – finishing in a respectable 53:36. Well done Gill!
