CRAG RAT RUN – SUNDAY 25TH SEPTEMBER, 2022

On what has turned out to be a very busy weekend of racing, as the excitement builds ahead of London Marathon, Eccleshill’s David Goodyear chose a popular 5 mile mixed terrain run around the picturesque town of Knaresborough for his weekend activity!

The race takes its name from the term for a person born in Knaresborough – a Crag Rat. The challenging route starts at Knaresborough Cricket Club and take runners along trails descending the crag to a tarmaced section alongside the River Nidd; mixed terrain leads to a trail through woodland before a fast tarmaced section returns runners to a narrow path adjacent to the river. Crossing the bridge near the Petryfying Well, there is a further riverside section before ascending back up the crag to the finish line where a medal and a goody bag will be presented to all finishers. David finished the race in a fabulous time of 46:44, well done David!!
