ROUND ROTHERHAM 50 MILE TRAIL RACE – SATURDAY 1ST OCTOBER 2022

Daniel Jenkins started the weekend setting the bar high with the first of two races in the form of this marathon ultra 50 mile race. The Round Rotherham 50 was first run in 1983 and has a lot of history.  Billed as a fast race, the route is fairly flat and virtually all runnable being nearly all on good paths and tracks.  It starts and finishes at Manvers Waterfront Boat Club near Rotherham, the route is a mixture of old industrial areas being reclaimed by woodland, river and canal banks and quiet farmland. It is an undulating route with over 800 metres of climb. It is the 39th edition of the event and is hosted by Rotherham Harriers Athletic Club. Dan completed this colossal distance in 09:17:19. Awesome effort Dan and good luck for the Kirkstall 7 miler tomorrow!
