CHRISTMAS CRACKER DAY 2 – SUNDAY 4TH DECEMBER, 2022

posted in: Race Reports | 0

Two Eccleshill Road Runners braved the cold, murky conditions today, Annie Kisluk completed no less than her 73rd marathon whilst Emma Haigh completed the 10k. Hosted by It’s Grim up North Running this out and back race starts on the canal at Kirkstall, Leeds. A real Christmas atmosphere awaited all the runners with music and food (and even a Christmas tree) to celebrate the coming season. This race offers multiple distances on two consecutive days: 5k, 10, 10 miles, half marathon, 20 mile, marathon and ultra marathon so there really is a myriad of choice! The course is perfectly flat, so whether you want a PB or to challenge yourself to a slightly longer distance there is something for everyone. This popular race is always a sell out and with the usual Grim goodies for finishers, cake, beer and a fabulous medal on offer, today though there were also hot sandwiches, a mince pie and a selection box, what’s not to like? Annie finished the marathon in 5:30:21 and Emma the 10k in 62:12 minutes. Well done ladies! Brilliant running!
