SIR TITUS TROT – SATURDAY 7TH JANUARY 2023

Two Eccleshill Road Runners kicked of their New Year racing with The Sir Titus Trot. Hosted by It’s Grim Up North Running the race offers no less than 7 distances; 5k, 10k, 10 mile, half marathon, 20 miles, marathon and 32 mile ultra. Starting out, as the name might suggest, at the picturesque world heritage site, Saltaire, the canal tow path for this race is usually great underfoot, however, the recent heavy rain made for challenging conditions and that along with the gale force winds today were relentless, making negotiating the endless puddles & mud tough. The out and back course featured laps which included the Bingley 5 Rise locks. Both Annie Kisluk and Daniel Jenkins completed the marathon distance. All the wet and soggy finishers were rewarded with a bespoke medal, beer and a pork pie! Dan finished in 4:08:57 & Annie (marathon number 74 & counting!) 6:05:00 hats off to both runners braving those challenging conditions, well done!
