WINTER ROUND SHEFFIELD RUN- SUNDAY 8TH JANUARY 2023

The winter version is back! (Bring on the mud!) The round Sheffield route is 11 timed stages starting and finishing in Endcliffe Park (the route’s spiritual home) and includes a total of 20k of challenging trails and parkland.
This original and creative concept takes  runners on a journey around some of the best trails in Sheffield, linking up the most picturesque parkland and green spaces. It is the greenest City in the UK after all! Each of the 11 timed stages have unique character and challenge. Runners can expect rewarding climbs, amazing scenery, and smile-inducing, flowing trails. In fact, 11 mini races in one. The fully way marked and marshalled course has 9 liaison stations which allow for recovery, these are in-between the timed stations and are 100 to 750 metres in length. Some other statistics of interest are: there is a rolling start spread over 2 hours so the slower to medium runners can select the earlier start time pro rata to the elite’s, there’s also is 600 metre’s of total elevation, a sophisticated digital timing system. Add to that 2 Mega feed stations en-route. All this culminates with a high quality finisher’s medal and post race BBQ, street food and beer tent. Sounds like a utopia for Dan but remember, running a challenge of this calibre is akin to, in Dan’s words “running a 13 mile PECO!”
Dan completed this tough course (after running a marathon yesterday) in 1:37:46. Absolutely amazing commitment, well done Dan!
