A 13.1 mile road race, starting and finishing on the Commonside in Roberttown, the Liversedge half is a tough hilly course through some rural areas in places. The Commonside is closed to traffic before and after the race. Notably, there is also a ford to cross through close to Brighouse. The race headquarters, as usual, was located at Roberttown Community Centre, Church Road, Liversedge and is organised by Roberttown Road Runners. The race is a favourite amongst the running community and famed for its challenging hilly course. Eccleshill had several entries this year but sadly for one reason or another only one in blue and white got to the start line and that was Claire Hern. Conditions were perfect for running this year, for a change the weather was decent, previous years have seen every type of weather from hail, rain, sleet and even snow some years. Claire stormed home in a fabulous time of 1:32:40 bagging herself a prize for first in her age category. Well done Claire!
