The Bingley B*ll*cks is hosted by ‘It’s Grim Up North Running’ and started and finished on the canal at Bingley next to the Fisherman’s Inn. On a picturesque and much quieter section of the canal, the race then ventures out towards Skipton. The race is one of the famed multi distance races from this race organiser which offered a 5k, 10k, 10 mile, half marathon, 20 mile, marathon and ultra. Still working towards her May ultra challenge, Gillian Jago chose the marathon distance on this spring like, sunny morning where participants were greeted by perfect conditions for running.Weather. The route, as you might expect, was by and large flat with the small challenge of the 3 and 5 rise locks.The canal towpath is good underfoot and this route is billed as perfect for that elusive personal best time at each distance.
All finishers received a bespoke medal, goodie bag of beer and chocolate and in addition trophies were awarded to the first male and female runner in each distance. Gill finished the race in 04:57:00 (tbc unnoffcial time). Well done Gill!
