Race 4 this year’s Peco XC League at Middleton Park, Leeds was hosted by Hyde Park Harriers assisted by Rothwell Harriers. A sunny but very breezy morning greeted the hundreds of runners from clubs affiliated to the league arriving to compete across the men’s and lady’s divisions. The course was just over 4.5 miles of challenging trail on open fields and woodland with a mixture of good paths, bridges and the obligatory hills thrown in. Despite the recent rain there was only minimal mud in places making for good conditions underfoot. The juniors kicked off the proceedings with school years 2 to 6 completing just over a mile and school year 7 to 12 completing 2 miles n a section of the senior course. Eccleshill had 5 runners out in the blue and white today. Dan Jenkins lead the men’s team home in 35:17 followed by Talhah Butt in 41:25, Garry Ellison 48:49 and Martin Steele 49:25. Lone representative for the ladies, Julie Steele finished in 48:27. Well done Team and big thanks to Maxine, Milo and Josh for their support!
