Eccleshill’s David Goodyear visited Lightwater Valley Family Adventure Park which is a theme park in North Stainley, North Yorkshire for this popular 10k race. Established for well over a decade, the Lightwater Valley 10k is a picturesque, fun-packed road race with some challenging uphills and rewarding downhills set on quiet country roads that are safe and heavily marshalled. Starting in the grounds of the theme park with approximately 100m (328’) of ascent & descent, this course is a great challenge for established runners whilst enabling all levels of fitness to take part in what is billed as a brilliant event. The chip-timed race is UKA licensed and measured by the Association of UK Course Measurers. The event is organised by the Friends of North Stainley School (Registered Charity No: 1146206) with all monies raised being used to advance the education of pupils in the school, in particular by providing facilities, equipment and educational opportunities which support both the school and the pupils. Conditions today were perfect for running, just a slight early morning chill. David finished the race in 62:02. Well done!
