A two day festival of running hosted by It’s Grim Up North running, in the form of their famous quarterly canal series, starts off the year with the Spring Canal Canter Day 1. Distances on offer range from 5k right up to ultra marathon and everything in between. This well established out and back race takes place on good trail paths and along the Leeds Liverpool canal at Kirkstall, it is a perfectly flat course making for the perfect event for those runners seeking that elusive personal best time. David Goodyear donned the blue and white to take on the marathon distance today. Early drizzle cleared to leave a spring like day with the sun even making an appearance! A full range of homemade cakes awaited all runners following their race, along with the usual beer, chocolate and a medal. Trophies were awarded to the first male and female runner in each distance.
