Two Eccleshill Road Runners took part on ‘day two of this festival of running’ with no less than seven distances on offer once again. Hosted by It’s Grim Up North Running, the multiple routes are 5K, 10K, 10 mile, half marathon, 20 mile, marathon and ultra marathon. In a word, something for everyone. Sarah Rawlings took on the half marathon whilst Briar Speight did the 10k. All routes are fast and flat along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, providing for a great opportunity to smash that PB. Day two saw once again perfect conditions for running, Spring sunshine with cool conditions, perfect for running! The famous quarterly canal series is a perfectly flat course on good trail path. All distances ran along the towpath of the Leeds and Liverpool canal and all started and finished in the same area. As always a full range of homemade cakes awaited runners at the finish, along with beer, chocolate and a medal. Great Running, well done Ladies! Briar romped home in a personal best time for the 10k in 65:11 and Sarah smashed the half marathon in 2:13:27. Well done ladies!
