CORONATION CANTER – MONDAY 8TH MAY, 2023

Topping off a busy bank holiday of racing, Team ERR continued the King’s Coronation celebrations with a Coronation Canter. Hosted by It’s Grim Up North Running the chip-timed event started and finished in Kirkstall, about 2.5 miles outside the centre of Leeds. With five different distances to choose from and a fabulous afternoon tea at the finish line they sure to made it a memorable day, even the rain couldn’t dampen the runners spirits! The route took two different approaches, for longer distances offering a full range of trail, woodland and tow path, and for shorter distances a more simplified out and back. Whilst the route was challenging the generous cut off meant it was well within everyone’s capability. Registration took place in the ‘Grim’ gazebo in the grounds of Kirkstall Abbey. All participants received a bespoke coronation themed medal, complete with a King Charles 111 caricature and a goody bag, they even rustled up a crown for those making first place in each distance! Ann Buckley, Linda Bussey & Caroline Ward completed the 5k and Sarah Rawlings, Gemma Illingworth and Vicky Cousins took on the 10k, well done Ladies, brilliant running! (official times TBC)
