Eccleshill’s Sue Gregson, ever keen to improve and up her new found running mojo donned the blue and white on the start line of this now extremely popular event is staged in partnership with Sheffield City Council. The Sheffield 10k is set in the heart of South Yorkshire’s famous steel City. As with the majority of the Run For All events, a fantastic atmosphere is almost guaranteed by the enthusiastic local support of each town or city. Thousands took part in 2022 and it promised to be even bigger and better this year. Pacers for the race were sponsored by Arla Protein, spaced at five minute intervals between 40 minutes and 1 hour 30 minutes providing support for all abilities to achieve that elusive person best at the 10k distance.
Run For All is part of the lasting legacy of the late amateur athlete and fundraiser Jane Tomlinson CBE. At Run For All, they continue Jane’s vision to provide a fundraising vehicle for a huge number of local and national charities, it also incorporates a team Challenge. This presents a race within a race, where teams battle it out to be crowned event champions. Professionals from dentists to lawyers to engineers battle it out to become Team Challenge Champions! The race runs alongside the main event, but rather than competing as individuals, the challenge is to work collectively to cross the line in the quickest combined time.
All profits from the run go directly to the Jane Tomlinson appeal
