ROWBOTHAM’S ROUND ROTHERHAM 50 – SATURDAY 7TH OCTOBER 2023

posted in: Race Reports | 0

The first of this weekend’s back to back races for Daniel Jenkins was the Robotham’s Round Rotherham 50 mile race. Hosted by Rotherham Harriers and Athletics club, this year saw the 40th edition of the race. The Round Rotherham 50 was first run in 1983, so it has a lot of history.  It’s a fast race as the route is fairly flat and virtually all runnable as it’s nearly all on good paths and tracks.  It starts and finishes at Manvers Waterfront Boat Club near Rotherham, and the route is a mixture of old industrial areas being reclaimed by woodland, river and canal banks, and quiet farmland.  Blessed with much better weather than in recent days, the conditions were near perfect for running if not a tad warm later in the day. Dan finished in 7th place in 8:46:13! Fabulous, Well done Dan!
