Hosted by Runthrough Events, the Ladybower Trail half marathon was a first in the half marathon trail running stakes for Eccleshill’s Simon Lacy. A seasoned triathlete he chose the beautiful setting of the Peak District for his baptism onto the trails! The Ladybower reservoir in the Peak District National Park is one of the largest reservoirs in the country and a perfect setting for trail running. With stunning scenery and a team of enthusiastic marshals to cheer the runners on, the Ladybower is perfect for both seasoned athletes and first timers! Today’s autumnal sunshine made for perfect conditions for running. By his own admission Simon said the race was beautiful but very tough – finishing in 3:20:15 well done!
