This Halloween themed running event had no less than seven distances on offer, bringing together runners of all abilities, to share memories in what they love to do. Reach the finish to enjoy tasty Halloween treats. On the menu are 5k, 10k, 10 miles, Half marathon, 20 miler, Marathon and Ultra. Organised by It’s Grim up North Runners, the route is trail along the tranquil Leeds to Liverpool Canal (Kirkstall). This out and back route is an entirely flat route, making it perfect for beginners who want to take in the beautiful waterside sights.
The flats are also ideal for seasoned athletes who are looking to smash through their PB’s and along with today’s cool, Autumnal weather conditions were perfect. With fully stocked aid stations to tempt the runners to the finish line, once there they can reward themselves with Halloween treats, home made cakes and a fabulous bespoke finishers medal. Out 0n the trails representing Eccleshill today were Briar Speight, taking on her first race at the half marathon distance finished in a fabulous time of 2:35:48, taking on the 10k distance were; Sarah Rawlings, 62:31, Gemma Illingworth 58:43 and second claim member Ian Storey 60:07.
