WINTER ROUND SHEFFIELD RUN – SUNDAY 7TH JANUARY 2024

Daniel Jenkins true to form is kicking his year off as predicted. With its unique creative format of 11 timed stages and no less than 20k of superb trails and parkland across Sheffield, the Round Sheffield Run (Winter or Summer edition) is an exciting, innovative and social concept that brings together the best bits of running into one memorable event. However, the Winter version is slightly more challenging if inclement weather occurs as is the case this year. Ample downpours ensured that conditions underfoot were challenging (to say the least) on some sections of the course. Billed as an exhilarating running journey showing runners some of the very best trails and parkland scenery through the UK’s greenest city, Sheffield. Each of the 11 timed stages have a unique character and challenge. Participants can expect rewarding climbs, amazing scenery and smile-inducing, flowing trails. 11 mini races in one. 11 runners highs! A contingency of Eccleshill Road Runners have already sampled the summer staging of this event in 2023 courtesy of an invite from Daniel Jenkins himself. Those who participated can testify that this is an amazing format for a club race and we will be promoting it for this summer! Dan finished today in 1:29:26, an absolutely sterling effort given the conditions and challenging course, brilliant running, well done!
