Eccleshill had just one contender in this very popular half marathon after injury/illness put paid the race for other ERRers who had entered. This year the organisers decided to use a ballot entry process to avoid the usual mad dash for places. Whether you are a keen club runner, doing your first half marathon or just running for fun, this is the road race for you. A fast flat and fast course with an entry limit of 1750 places. Now in its 41st year and growing ever popular. Conditions this year were ear perfect for those seeking that elusive personal bes. Overcast and cool weather greeted runners to York. Starting and finishing at the racecourse, runners follow a fast and flat course, heading Southwards through Bishopsthorpe, Acaster Selby, Appleton Roebuck and then back through Bishopthorpe to finish behind the Racecourse grandstands.
Claire stormed home in a fabulous time of 1:33:11 chalking up her first race for 2024. What a brilliant start, great running, well done!
