LIVERSEDGE HALF MARATHON – SUNDAY 3RD MARCH 2024

posted in: Race Reports | 0

Two Eccleshill Road Runners took on the Liversedge Half Marathon this weekend. Dan Jenkins (his second race of the weekend) and Claire Hern, who is a regular at this annual event. Billed as a well-organised, popular local race, it is organised by Roberttown Road Runners in West Yorkshire. Runners follow a one lap course, starting and finishing at Commonside. The Commonside is closed to traffic before and after the race. The route is hilly, run on local rural roads. Held under UK Athletics Rules. UKA Licenced, the  race is a favourite amongst the running community and famed for its challenging hilly course. Conditions were a tad chilly but otherwise perfect for running. This year race entrants had the choice of selecting to have a bespoke technical long-sleeved t-shirt when they finish the race or the option of donating to the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) in support of their Together for Trees campaign. Roberttown Road Runners are working in partnership with YDMT in support of their Together for Trees campaign, helping them to create a landscape with more native broadleaf woodlands for people and wildlife. Pacing each other round Claire Finished in 1:36:52 (2nd F45) and Dan 1:36:51! Well done both!
