Sarah Rawlings is keeping up her race momentum so far this year with an appearance on the start line, representing the blue and whites, choosing the 10 mile option at what has been billed as Merseyside’s biggest road race event the Liverpool Half Marathon & 10 Miler, this year saw the 30th edition of the event. The race boasted a grandstand start and finish on the Liverpool’s iconic and world-famous waterfront. Starting at the Pier Head in the shadow of the famous Liver Building, the 13.1 mile course meanders up to the most scenic parkland in the city at Sefton Park before heading back along the waterfront promenade overlooking the River Mersey. Runner then head back to the city centre and the finish line. The 10 mile race starts and finishes in the same location as the Half Marathon, cutting out the Sefton Park section. The ever popular races sold out over 3 weeks before the start date. Some runners use this 10 miler as a step up to the half marathon distance and see the half marathon as a firm favourite as a lead up to London marathon. Either way it’s a great way to see the City! Many charities benefit from vital funds raised by the staging of this landmark event in Liverpool’s race calendar.
Sarah finished this one in a very respectable time of 01:35:36. Fantastic running Sarah, well done!
