Eccleshill’s Laura Hammond, this weekend, took part in the Leeds Running Festival in support of St Gemmas Hospice. Hosted by Run Through events, runners were able to seize the opportunity to run a 5k, 10k, or Half Marathon around the beautiful Roundhay Park. Covering more than 700 acres of beautiful parkland, lakes and woodland, this is billed the perfect setting for a summer run. Today’s weather was perfect for running, overcast conditions met runners early morning and most will have managed to finish their run comfortably. The course followed a lapped route, with all runners following the same course, the 5k runners completing one lap, 10k 2 laps and the half marathon 4 laps. Laura chose the 10k option and finished in style in 67:13. All finishers were rewarded with a unique venue themed medal. Well done Laura!
