BLUEBELL TRAIL – SUNDAY 3RD MAY, 2026

posted in: Race Reports | 0

Following a few days of brilliant sunshine, the weather took a turn meaning sheer determination and true grit were called for today in tackling this extremely popular but really tough event. Heavy rainfall overnight made for muddy conditions. Eccleshill’s Mark Hayward declared that ‘it was good fun despite the mud’! Hosted by Stainland Lions, a well established running club with a charitable background. The Bluebell Trail is a notoriously challenging 10.3 mile multi terrain race through woodland, canal towpaths, trails and cobbled streets with the occasional hill here and there including the infamous Trooper Lane. This unique course incorporates some of the most scenic views within the heart of Yorkshire and even has a refreshing river crossing to finish, no doubt, a welcome site today to wash off the mud! Mark finished in 2:23:04, well done
