LORD OF THE RUNS – SUNDAY 21ST JUNE, 2026

Back up North this weekend was Eccleshill’s Emma Callaghanto take part in The Lord of the Runs. Hosted by Saturn Running, the event location is Durham Amateur Rowing Club. Billed as popular with those who love the series of books and the film franchise or those who fancy a run along the beautiful River Wear! The Lord of the Runs is a multi distance, 7 hour challenge, runners have full control over the distance they want to run by completing laps to achieve the desired distance, anything from 3k up to 50k. The course was along a beautiful stretch of the River Wear with views of the Cathedral and is classified as a trail run. Another plus is that it is fully signed so no navigational experience is required! Conditions today though were quite tough in the heat so whatever distance was completed it was certainly an achievement and a well earned fabulous Lord of the Runs medal!
Emma chose the 10k option and finished in a brilliant time of 50:51. Well done Emma!
