ECCUP 10 & 5 MILE RACES – SUNDAY 5TH JULY, 2026

posted in: Race Reports | 0

Eccleshill had four members out in the blue & white this fine Sunday! The Hollybank Eccup 10 & 5 Mile Races were back this year in collaboration with with their charitable partner, The Hollybank Trust. The 10 mile race took place on closed roads following a scenic route through the country lanes around Eccup reservoir, making it Leeds most popular 10 mile road race. The 5 mile race follows a shortened version of the 10 mile route. Abbey Runners make a donation to both Hollybank Trust and the club’s nominated 2026 charity, The Hygiene Bank, from the race proceeds.

Representing the blue and white this year were Ian Stow in the 5 mile; with Barbara Stow, Jackie Bywater and Annie Kisluk all taking on the 10 mile.

Ian completed the 5 mile course in a respectable 41:10, finishing as the 2nd MV60 runner – well done Ian!

In the 10 mile, first home was Jackie in a brilliant 1:37:38, followed by Annie in 1:50:44, with Barbara not far behind in 1:57:49.

Great to see ERR representation in two tough races – well done all!
