Hosted by ‘It’s Grim Up North Running” the ‘Rock Up N Run’ is a series of races at various venues throughout the Summer. As the name suggests it really is a case of choosing your distance, 5k or 10k and rocking up to run and that’s just what Eccleshill’s Sarah Rawlings and Sarah Myers decided to do in crazy hot conditions! Billed as a relaxed, flat canalside 5 or 10k, both ladies opted for the 10k option, starting at the Rodley Barge, running out and back along the canal, all finishers received a jumble medal, beer or soft drink and sweetie bag! Sarah Myers finished as first lady in a brilliant time of 58:38 (unofficial) and Sarah Rawlings in a fabulous 65:15 Well Done ladies, amazing effort in the heat. (official times tbc)
