The East Coast Chuffer along the canal series of races is hosted by It’s Grim Up North Running. Offering a variety of distances from 5k right up to a marathon! Eccleshill’s Emma Callaghan chose the 10k distance and praised the club’s summer training for preparing her legs for canal towpath running! The course took runners along the tranquil Leeds to Liverpool Canal from Kirkstall. The out and back route was an entirely flat route, making it perfect for beginners who want to take in the beautiful canalside sights.
The flat surfaces are also ideal for seasoned athletes who are looking to smash through their PB’s, today’s perfect conditions no doubt added to Emma’s fantastic run yielding a personal best 10k time of 47:30, being rewarded with a fabulous medal and lots of now famous Grim Up North treats at the finish line! Congratulations on your fantastic run Emma!
