MELTHAM ‘TOUGH’ 10K – SUNDAY 26TH JANUARY 2020

posted in: Race Reports | 0

Just three blue and whites travelled to the Kirklees district for race 10 of the club’s Winter championship. The clue is in the title and this certainly lives up to it’s name! Hosted by Meltham AC, the infamous Meltham ‘Tough’ 10k – is billed as a winter Road Race with plenty of gruelling climbs, long fast descents and guaranteed challenging weather and doesn’t disappoint. Whilst runners were met with chilly but pleasant winter sun on arrival at Meltham Community Sports Centre this morning, conditions soon turned even more wintry on reaching the dizzy heights to which they had climbed as the rain set in, icy at times, and lasted for the duration of the race.

Leading the team home was Dan Jenkins in 47:26, followed by Julie Steele 58:02 and (completing day 26 of #redjanuary) Ian Storey 60:38. Well done folks and big thanks to Martin, Ange and Buster for their support!
