SIR TITUS SUMMER TROT – SATURDAY/SUNDAY 17TH/18TH JULY 2021

posted in: Race Reports | 0

Due to it’s popularity this event is held over two days. Grim Up North once again offered a multitude of distances for this race from 5k through to an Ultra with everything in between. Annie Kisluk and David Goodyear our regular Grim Up Norther’s added this to their ever increasing portfolio of races, this time joined by several other Eccleshill runners. Always popular this summer event is staged alongside the Leeds Liverpool canal in the lovely Saltaire district. Routed along the towpath on the Leeds Liverpool canal and no less than seven distances available, the course is great underfoot so this flat, out and back potentially is the one that allows you to push yourself to the next distance. This weekend though, saw temperatures soar into the very high 20’s at times making for brutal conditions for running. No doubt PB’s were in short supply! Hats off to those that braved the seering heat to complete any distance at all this weekend.  As usual at Grim races,  there was an array of homemade cakes for all of the runners and their supporters, and the usual chocolate, beer and bespoke medal for finishers. It really does feel like racing is back on the menu.
