LOTHERTON HALL TRAIL RACE – FRIDAY AUGUST 6TH 2021

Hosted by Evensplits, the inaugural Lotherton Hall Trail Race was billed as providing a ‘perfect route and distance for Friday night race in the Summer’! A gently undulating 8km circuit of quiet tracks and footpaths between Lotherton Hall and Micklefield near Leeds took runners through arable farmland, woody woodland and up close and personal with Hook Moor wind farm, so close the ‘whooshing’ of the rotors was clearly audible! Recent rain made conditions under foot tricky in parts where the preceding stampede left slippery mud in their midst! Puddles-a-plenty completed the ‘trail’ description!
All finishers received a beautiful wooden medal and something suitably consumable (a choice of craft beer or chocolate!).
Martin & Julie Steele made (extremely) last minute entries and crossed the finish line together in 51:45
