A vital word is missing from the title of this race, three guesses, of course you didn’t need three attempts to guess that it’s ‘series’! Due to the pandemic uncertainties about holding races in May, the usual 3 race series, usually held on successive Wednesdays, was cancelled for 2021, in it’s place was this single race. Hosted by Saltaire Striders, participants were invited to ‘start their race any time between 1915 and 1925 with a mass start available from 1915 for all runners. Although multi terrain (including riverside & towpath) the one lap course was billed as a flat 5k with superb PB potential due to there being very little undulation, coupled with perfect running conditions this certainly was a distinct possibility.Just one Eccleshill runner chose this one, Linda Bussey finished in a fabulous time of 28:46. Well done Linda!
