The latest edition and a welcome midweek event for just one of Eccleshill’s regulars at these events. This week’s races, the final ones of the series, started from the picturesque Fewston Reservoir and offered a 4 or 8 mile run, a very warm, humid evening once again this week made for tough conditions for running.

The Grim Up North Summer Evening Series has been a new series of events for 2021 aimed at keeping runners motivated (and race fit) over the summer months. Usually offering the choice of 5K and 10K they mixed it up this week by offering something a little different. No need for pre race entry as it’s entry on the night only, turn up pay your fee and you’re in! In addition, any runner participating in four races will get their fifth free and an overall winner will be announced at the end of the series.
Destinations in the series have included: Bingley (canal race), Slaithwaite (Canal Race), Saltaire (Canal Race), Kirkstall (Canal Race), Huddersfield (Canal Race), Fewston (BBQ evening). Out in the blue and white this week was Sarah Rawlings who completed the 8 mile race in 1:21:50. Well done Sarah
