KESWICK HALF MARATHON – SUNDAY-26TH SEPTEMBER 2021

Not content with just finishing a 26.2 mile “Titus Trot marathon” on Saturday, David Goodyear then goes back to back with this well renowned Half marathon in one of his favourite places. Keswick Half Marathon is said to be one of the most scenic half marathons in the country. The race was set up by Keswick Rugby Club in order to raise funds for the club and the youth coaching program. They are one of only a handful of small clubs in the country to have a full-time rugby development officer who spends the majority of his time in the local schools. The half marathon is one of the events that helps to fund this coaching program so the running community’s support is greatly appreciated. The sun shone on the righteous as the participants lined up in this very popular annual event. The route is a circuit of Derwentwater, with an extra loop into the Newlands valley, probably the most scenic 13 miles 192.5 yards in the country. On the race day there is a fun run for the young ones. A short course, just for fun! Finishing in 02:14:36 David added yet another 13.1 miler to his ever increasing race bid for 2021. Excellent running, well done!
