Dan Jenkins is certainly ramping up the mileage these days as he adds another big event to his latest spree of races. This time it’s a popular small friendly but not well advertised 50.8 mile ultra which circumnavigates Rotherham and sees runners returning to take on the distance again and again. Its a fast race as the route is fairly flat and virtually all runnable as it’s nearly all on good paths and tracks. It starts and finishes at Manvers Waterfront Boat Club near Rotherham and the route is a mixture of old industrial areas being reclaimed by woodland, river and canal banks and quiet farmland. Dan absolutely smashed the distance posting a brilliant time of 10:47:22 Amazing stamina. This is Dan’s final long run before the Yorkshire marathon. Dan dedicated the first 26.2 mile of this Ultra to incorporate the Virtual Boston marathon. Fantastic running, well done!
