Four Eccleshill Road Runners took part in the Run For All York 10 mile race.

Starting just after the marathon, the York 10-miler provides runners with an opportunity to experience the excitement, colour, enthusiastic crowds and vibrant atmosphere of marathon race day while tackling a more manageable 10 miles.
In addition, scores of teams entered the Yorkshire Marathon York Sport Relay. The race begins in the heart of York, at the University campus – in what is arguably the most beautiful City in the UK – and passes many of the its historic landmarks, including the world-famous York Minster and the mighty medieval City Walls. The race also heads out into the idyllic Yorkshire countryside where runners are treated to scenic surroundings and quaint country roads. As always a wonderfully supportive atmosphere is guaranteed throughout meaning running the Yorkshire 10 Mile is always an unforgettable experience, not least the Electric finish back at the University in front of hundreds of cheering fans. Conditions today were just perfect for running, early morning drizzle gave way to a dry, overcast run and with a hefty breeze in parts, no doubt assisting lots of runners to achieve their personal best time over this distance today. Finishers came home to a raucous welcome from the the crowds and the hosts, first in for Eccleshill was Garry Ellison in 1:25:42 followed by Julie Steele, 1:33:11, Ian Stow 1:40:54 and Barbara Stow 1:58:31. Well done everyone! Big thanks to our support crew out on the course today!
