This week Eccleshill’s David Goodyear is doing back to back races, Saturday’s race of choice was a scenic 10k which is part of the Kendal Mountain Festival. A trail run of 10 kilometres around Kendal, taking in the landmarks that many of the locals use for their training. A classic trail run that ‘has it all’, strewn with natural obstacles – no haybales or mudbaths here – just lots of great ascents, jaw-dropping vistas, some hard-packed and grassy trails and a great town centre finish. An added bonus was if runners were unable to take part they can register to take part virtually and have 24 hours to complete it. David finished in 76:05, watch this space for part two tomorrow!
