Hosted by the community and charity event focused company, Curley’s Athletes Ltd, the Doncaster 10k 2021 saw the 5th edition of the race. With 2020 being virtual this year’s event created a lot of excitement around the now triple award winning event. At Curly’s their goal is to promote an active lifestyle, through providing people with inspirational, fun, great value and high quality physically challenging event. Knowing the benefits of this to individuals and community are huge, both in terms of physical and mental well-being.
The event in 2017, 2018 and 2019 quickly sold out with 3,000 places filled! … and 2020 saw 800 runners join the event virtually. Once again the event was held at the amazing venue of Doncaster Racecourse and with an excellent course around the centre of Doncaster. All finishers earned themselves a pie and a medal with an option to purchase a tee shirt! Three Eccleshilll Road Runners took on the challenge on what was a very cold but gorgeous, sunny morning. Katie Glossop (Katie GG was her horse name!) romped home in a fabulous time of 59:46, Ian Stow accompanied his daughter around the course in 60:55 and Barbara Stow 67:29. Well done all!
